Koçarlı Vocational School

Peyzaj ve Süs Bitkileri Programı açık ve yeşil alanların planlama ve tasarımı ile uğraşan bir bilim ve sanat dalı olan peyzaj mimarlığı çalışmalarında ihtiyaç duyulan nitelikli tekniker talebini karşılamak amacıyla kurulmuştur. Bu doğrultuda adaylara uygulama projelerinin kaliteli olarak hayata geçirilmesini sağlayacak proje teknikleri, bitki materyalini tanıma, yetiştirme konusunda teorik ve uygulamalı dersler verilmektedir.

“Peyzaj Uygulama ve Süs Bitkileri” programı ilk öğrencilerini 2006-2007 Eğitim-Öğretim yılında almıştır. Yüksek Öğretim Kurulu 15.04.2009 tarihli toplantısında alınan karar ile “Peyzaj Uygulama ve Süs Bitkileri” programının ismi “Park ve Bahçe Bitkileri” bölümü altında “Peyzaj ve Süs Bitkileri” olarak değiştirilmiştir.

Meslek standartlarına göre yetişmiş bitkisel materyal bilgisi, bilgisayar kullanımı, uygulama becerisi ve temel mesleki yabancı dil öğrenimiyle sektörde aranan nitelikte teknikerler yetiştirmektir.

Peyzaj ve süs bitkileri yetiştiriciliği alanında yetkin ara eleman yetiştiren ve kendini yenileyen ve geliştiren bir program olmaktır. Programda, bitki yetiştirme, peyzajda kullanma ve bakımı ile ilgili alanlarda çalışan mühendis ve peyzaj mimarlarına yardımcı olabilecek ara elemanlar yetiştirilmesi amaçlanmaktadır.

Konusuyla ilgili kavram ve ilkeleri özümsemiş, kırsal, kentsel ve özel alanlar için peyzaj projeleri tasarım ve çizim prensiplerini bilen, süs bitkileri yetiştirme, üretim, bakım ve uygulama işlemlerini yapabilen, doğal ve kültürel kaynakları ölçülü kullanabilen, tarımsal konularda bilgili olan, kalite güvence de dahil olmak üzere iş hazırlama, tasarım ve üretim birimlerinde görev alabilecek nitelikte teknik elemanlar yetiştirmektir.

Koçarlı Meslek Yüksekokulunun ilk hizmet binaları Ziraat Fakültesinden devredilen ve 2 adet idari hizmet binası, 15
adet sınıf, 1 adet bilgisayar laboratuvarı ve 10 adet diğer laboratuvarların bulunduğu 3 prefabrik derslik bloğu iken, bu
binaların kullanım ömürlerinin dolması nedeniyle, 2016 yılında an itibariyle eğitim hizmetlerini yürüttüğümüz bloklar
(B ve B1) tahsis edilmiştir.
Tahsis edilen Bloklardan B1 blok henüz boşaltılmadığından, eğitim hizmetleri B blokta yürütülmektedir. Devredilen
blokların kapalı alanı 8500 m² olup, Yüksekokulumuza teslim edilen bölümünde 7 derslik, 1 bilgisayar laboratuarı, 1
mikroskobi laboratuarı, 1 kimya laboratuarı ve 15 büro yer almaktadır.
Öğrenci kantini ve yemekhanesi ile personel yemekhanesi, Güney Kampüs genelinde Ziraat Fakültesi ile
Yüksekokulumuz tarafından müşterek kullanılmaktadır. 10000 m² açık alanı bulunan Yüksekokulun 2500 m²’lik
uygulama sahası bulunmaktadır. Uygulama sahası içinde 100 m² kapalı alanlı polikarbon sera, 50 m² alanlı iki adet
naylon sera, 50 m² alanlı bir nethouse, biri 60 m², diğeri 250 m² alanlı iki adet kanatlı hayvan üretim alanı yer
almaktadır. Ayrıca arıcılık ünitesi mevcuttur. Ayrıca, sportif etkinliklerin yapıldığı basketbol,
voleybol ve tenis kortlarını içeren 500 m² alana sahip bir spor sahası vardır.

Landscape Technician

Associate degree is continuing for four semester or two year and at the end of this education, diploma of associate degree is given. Lectures are given in the form of theoretical or practical. Unit of the lectures are credit. The credit of the education program is determined both local credit and ECTS credit. Total ECTS credit of one year lecture is sixty credits as each half years is thirty credits except summer semester. In one half semester is involve at least fourteen weeks with final and makeup exam, with theoretical and practical lectures, other studies and quiz, except the re-registration weeks and weekends and holidays. Compulsory attendance is 70 % for theoretical lectures and 80 % for practical lectures. But students who are attended for folk dance, sports and culture activity for the University are out of this compulsory rules providing doing their practical lectures. Attendance is taken by the responsible of lecture with taken a signature from the students. Students who fail from the absenteeism cannot attend to the final and make-up examinations and are repeat the lesson. The students have to check in the failed lesson, have to continue the lesson if the student failed with absenteeism, have to attend the failed practical lessons and have to do all examinations. Pass mark is calculated with addition of 40 % of quiz and 60 % of final exams. But, students have to take 50 point of 100 point in final exam. At the end of final/make-up examination pass mark has to be 60 point. Successful students cannot repeat these lessons and cannot attend any other exams relation to this lesson. In order to be graduate, students have to complete all the lessons and training course which are take part in the education program (total 120 ECTS).

Graduate students can be applying to the undergraduate programs of Landscape Engineering, Urban Design and Landscape Engineering, Garden Plants, Cultivated Plant Production and Forest Engineering and also Economy-Management programs of Distance Education if they successfully succeed in DGS exam.

Graduate students take the degree of the “Associate Degree Diploma in Landscape and Ornamental Plants Technician”.

It is determined by OSYM with YOK statutes. In accordance with the higher education council (YÖK) rules, student acceptance is carried out if the student takes sufficient point in university entrance (YGS) exam with YGS 1 point type. Vocational high school students have open admission chance.

Recognition of Prior Learning is determined by the YOK statute and this phenomenon is premature. For this, Recognition of Prior Learning system not started yet in Adnan Menderes University. But there is exemption exam for English Language in the beginning of the academic year. Successful student will be exempt for the lesson.

The students must complete 2 years of study acquiring 120 ECTS credits. This degree is awarded to students who successfully completed all courses in the curriculum and have a minimum grade point average of 2.00/4.00 and no failing grades.
