Associate degree education lasts four semesters / two years, and students who successfully complete the program are awarded an associate degree diploma. Education and training in the program are carried out in accordance with the Bologna Process, the Turkish Higher Education Qualifications Framework, and ECTS principles.
Courses are delivered theoretically and/or practically, and the credits of the education and training programs are determined through both local credits and ECTS credits. The program consists of a total of 120 ECTS credits and is structured as 60 ECTS credits per academic year, excluding the summer term.
In addition to compulsory courses, the program includes elective courses that support students’ professional development and career goals. ECTS credits are determined by taking into account student workload, including course hours, practical work, assignments, projects, exam preparation, workplace practices, and individual study.
Workplace-Based Vocational Training is included in the 4th semester of the program. This training aims to enable students to develop their professional knowledge, skills, and competencies in institutions and enterprises related to their field. It contributes to students’ understanding of working life, acquisition of professional responsibility, and ability to relate theoretical knowledge to practical processes.
Students are expected to attend courses, participate in in-term studies, and complete assessment and evaluation processes. Student achievement is determined by considering in-term studies, examinations, practical work, and end-of-term evaluations.
To graduate from the program, students must successfully complete all courses, practical work, and the Workplace-Based Vocational Training requirement included in the curriculum, earn a total of 120 ECTS credits, and meet the academic achievement requirements for graduation. This structure provides a student-centered, learning-outcome-based, practice-oriented, and nationally/internationally comparable education and training system.
